The Sunrise Medical A5000H Anti-Bedsore Air Mattress has a cell exchange system that allows pressure to be distributed evenly when lying down, reducing pressure peaks and protecting risk areas that cause pressure sores.
It is commonly used in hospitals and nursing homes (as a bed for the elderly), although it is increasingly common to buy it for home use. The aim is to prevent the appearance of annoying ulcers that are as costly to remove as they are dangerous to some patients.
The A5000h anti-bedsore air mattress consists of 18 air cells in which inflation is evenly distributed to simulate a change in position. This intermittent movement does not disturb the user and enhances comfort. The two head cells do not collapse, allowing for what is known as a pillow effect, otherwise a change in neck position would make it difficult to rest.
The 5cm foam base at the bottom means the A5000h does not require an additional mattress and can be used directly on the existing bed base or frame. It is an economical and durable air mattress to combat bedsores.
